Primary Education

Dunsford is particularly fortunate in having it's own Primary School located in the middle of the village. It is well regarded and some pupils commute to Dunsford from outside the parish. 

Dunsford pre-school from aged 3 is now based within the school grounds and the children link into the reception class part time before they progress onto primary school full time.

Secondary Education

Pupils following the state education path normally leave Dunsford Primary School when they are 11 years of age and commute to Teign Comprehensive School located in Kingsteignton on the outskirts of Newton Abbot, approx. 12 miles away. Pupils also have the option to travel to Exeter and attend West Exe Technology College. (Comprehensive school)

There are a large variety of independent schools accessible from Dunsford, a number of children and teenagers commute to Exeter and, in some instances, the parents run a pool service to deliver and collect.

"Exeter School" in Exeter City is attended by a number of children and teenagers living in Dunsford. The school is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 7 to 18. The Main School caters for pupils aged between 11 and 18 and in the Junior School aged between 7 and 11

There are a large number of other independent schools accessible from Dunsford.

Higher Education

Dunsford is within commuting distance from a large range of Higher educational facilities including Exeter College, which is a major educational establishment in Exeter with courses covering Modern Apprenticeships, National Traineeships and Higher Education covering Management, Business, Art & Design.

South Devon & Queen Elizabeth College in Crediton also run a variety of further education courses from Upholstery to Computing. A number of the courses are roaming courses i.e. they are run at local facilities, such as Village Halls etc., so it is not always necessary to travel further than your own village.

The University of Exeter is within easy commuting distance with a variety of faculties located throughout the City

Many of the Colleges provide extensive facilities for Further Education for adults of all ages and abilities.
