The Last Pantomime production was "Beauty and the Beast"
written and directed by Ilona Lapka.
The story was based on the original 1740 French fairytale with a hint of the modern Disney and more than a pinch of the writers own imagination!
It was a great success as usual and next years production is already in the pipelline, so watch this space for further details.
The Dunsford Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS)
Formed in 1948, DADS has been staging pantomimes and other productions almost every year since. In January this year its production, “Jack and the Beanstalk”, was yet another great success, DADS’ 62ndpantomime since “Jack and Jill” way back in the forties.
In addition to its pantomimes, over the past few years DADS has re-introduced mid-summer productions which have attracted sell-out audiences. Those Society members who have taken part have greatly enjoyed the different challenges which professionally-written stage plays bring. Productions have included “An Inspector Calls”; “The Ghost Train”; “Allo Allo”; “Murdered to Death” and “Tons of Money”. Last year (2014), Ilona Llapka made her directing debut when the Society staged Norman Robbins’ comedy-thriller “A Tomb with a View”. We look forward to bringing more plays to Dunsford in the future and, in doing so, would be delighted to welcome any aspiring thespians to join the cast. If there is anyone out there who would like to become involved in our plays and/or pantomimes please come forward. Our Secretary, Hazel Linney (01647 252732), would love to hear you.
News and information about DADS and its productions appears regularly in the Parish Magazine
