The last Pantomime production was Rapunzel written and directed by Chloe Sharland and family, with fantastic scenery done by Meg and Kit Surrey with many Christmas Trees everywhere to represent the forest.
The next Pantomime in January 2019 will be The Snow Queen written and directed by Judy Harrison and a lot of preparation has already taken place.
The Dunsford Amateur Dramatic Society (DADS) was formed in 1948 with a performance of Jack & Jill. DADS have been staging Pantomimes and other productions almost every year since. 2019 sees the 70th. Anniversary of the society and a weekend of celebration is being planned for September, details of this will be in the Parish Magazine.
In addition to its Pantomimes, over the past few years DADS has re-introduced mid-summer productions which have attracted sell-out audiences. Those taking part have greatly enjoyed the different challenges which professionally written stage plays bring. Productions have included ‘An Inspector Calls’, ‘The Ghost Train’, ‘Allo Allo’, and more recently ‘One O’Clock from the House’. Last year a variety performance ‘Allsorts’ was put on with a bar and a picnic supper – this was very well received and enjoyed by all.
We look forward to bringing more plays to Dunsford in the future and, in doing so, would be delighted to welcome any aspiring thespians to join us. If there is anyone out there who would like to become involved in our Pantomimes or plays, either on stage or behind the scenes please come forward.
Contact our Secretary, Janet Beech on 01647 252924 or email email@example.com we’d love to hear from you.
