Dunsford Singers is a non-auditioning choir of approximately 60
members who come mainly from Dunsford and the Teign Valley.
We rehearse on a Monday evening at Dunsford Village Hall and perform
concerts at Christmas and in the Summer. Our prime aim is to
enjoy making music in a relaxed local setting, and also to enjoy
rising to the challenge of tackling a wide range of pieces - in recent
years we have sung folk songs, pop songs and classical pieces by
composers including Goodall, Rutter, Vaughan-Williams, Vivaldi to
the Beatles, Jimmy Perry and Simon & Garfunkel.
All our concerts are held to raise money for charity (as well as to enjoy our singing
and, hopefully, bring entertainment and enjoyment to our
audiences, of course!); between December 2013 and December
2014 we raised £1800 for ShelterBox, £1750 for the Exeter cancer
charity, FORCE and £1700 for Children's Hospice South West
We sing in four-part (and sometimes six-part) harmony, but you
don’t have to be able to read music to join. Currently the choir is
fairly full, but if you are interested in finding out more about the
choir, please contact Jane Inwood on 01647 252519 – particularly if
you are a tenor or a bass, where we still have some spaces.
Our next concerts will feature Haydn’s Nelson Mass, as well as
pieces by Handel and Mozart and they will take place on Saturday 6
June (Kingsteignton Church) and Sunday 14 June (Dunsford
Church). All proceeds will go to the children’s cancer charity CLIC. If
you are interested in buying tickets for either of these
performances, please ring Jane Inwood on 01647 252519.

In the photos you will see a section of the choir (with soloist,
Rebecca Squire, in the background) after a performance of the
Vivaldi Gloria and the whole choir at their In Love and War concert
in June 2014.
