Cosy Holiday Home in the Teign Valley
Lillian’s Cottage is a comfortable 2 bedroomed cottage which sleeps 4 people and is in the heart of the beautiful Dartmoor village of Dunsford.
Dunsford lies inside the Dartmoor National Park and many of its houses are of traditional cob and thatch.
Here the River Teign emerges from its moorland course at Steps Bridge, half a mile from the village, and flows down the thickly wooded Teign Valley.
Upstream from Steps Bridge the scenery is spectacular with Lutyens’ Castle Drogo (National Trust) crowning the Gorge above the renowned beauty spot of Fingle Bridge.
A gate from the pavement leads into the walled, paved courtyard garden - ideal for outdoor dining.
From there a door opens on to a roomy and light kitchen with electric cooker, microwave and fridge.
The kitchen opens into the living room with exposed beams and inglenook fireplace which still has the original bread-oven.
There are comfortable chairs and settee, television and an extendible dining table. Off the living room is a cloakroom with a WC.
Up the stairs (good handrails) are a double and a twin bedroom, bathroom and a separate shower room.
(French, Italian and some German spoken by the owners who live in the village.)
